Thousands of years of history have proven one thing. Nothing pollutes our air like coal. In fact, nothing comes close.
According to the U.S. Department of Energy, Americans are facing an unprecedented rush to build more than 150 new coal-fired electric plants - the worst power-generating polluters known to mankind.
The clock is ticking.
At a time of growing concern over global warming, we are faced with the largest single increase in air pollution from any public policy decision in recent history.
Any source of electricity generation, ranging from wind, solar, natural gas and hydropower - all the way to nuclear - produce less air pollution than the proposed coal plants.
There's really no such thing as “clean coal.” But, not only are we faced with an onslaught of new coal plants, practically all of those proposed will fail to utilize the most modern technology available to control the extremely hazardous emissions that will occur with these facilities.
Let your voices be heard.
We've provided easy links to write the country's major newspapers, radio broadcasters, TV broadcasters and other media outlets - both locally and nationally.
Most importantly, please take the time to utilize the links we've provided to communicate with our country's national and state political leaders.
Only they can put a halt - or at least slow down and more rationally consider - the impact of adding more than 150 coal-fired electric generating plants to the American landscape and the massive environmental costs associated with those facilities.
